Standing at the dawn of new century we find ironical and disgraceful fact that there
is a serious mismatch between what educational institutions produce and what the
employer's need.
It is hard true, at present more than 70 percent of the graduate from technical stream
and at least 80 percent from the general stream are either unemployed or under employed.
At the same time scores of positions industry, in government and other sectors of employ-
ment lie vacant for want of suitably qualified personnel.
It is bigger and more difficult challenge to evolve education according to market
demand. Education for employment. Education should be forward linkage with job
so that the dividends of education easily translate in bright future.
